Account and Registration

How do I create a Vibe account?

You can create an account in three ways:

  • Email: Enter your email and create a password
  • Google: Sign in with your Google account in one click
  • Apple: Use Sign in with Apple (iOS only)

After registration, you'll need to complete your profile with basic information.

Is the app free?

Yes, Vibe is completely free! All main features are accessible at no cost:

  • Profile creation
  • Map browsing
  • Trip creation
  • Messaging
  • Flash Meetups

We may introduce premium features in the future, but core features will remain free.

How old do I need to be to use Vibe?

You must be at least 18 years old to use Vibe. This restriction is in place to ensure the safety of our community of adult travelers.

Your date of birth is verified during registration and cannot be changed afterwards.

I forgot my password, what should I do?
  1. On the login screen, tap "Forgot password"
  2. Enter the email associated with your account
  3. Check your inbox (and spam folder)
  4. Click the reset link
  5. Create a new password

The reset link expires after 24 hours.

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account in two ways:

  1. In the app: Settings > Account > Delete my account
  2. By email: Contact us via the Contact page

Warning: This action is irreversible.

Using the App

How does the map work?

The map displays travelers as "pins":

  • Green pin: The traveler is currently at this location ("Here Now")
  • Blue pin: The traveler plans to go there ("Coming Soon")

Tap on a pin to see a profile preview, then "View profile" for more details.

How do I create a trip?
  1. Tap the "+" or "Create" button
  2. Select "New trip"
  3. Choose your destination
  4. Set arrival and departure dates
  5. Add optional details (budget, activities...)
  6. Publish your trip

Your trip will be visible on the map and in the Discover section.

What is a Flash Meetup?

A Flash Meetup is a spontaneous gathering organized by a traveler. It's ideal for:

  • Sharing a meal
  • Visiting a place together
  • Doing an activity (hiking, tour, etc.)
  • Simply chatting over coffee

Flash Meetups are visible on the map and in Discover. You can create or join them anytime.

How do I contact another traveler?
  1. Visit the traveler's profile
  2. Tap "Vibe" or "Send a message"
  3. Wait for the user to accept your request
  4. Once accepted, you can exchange messages

You can see your conversations in the "Messages" tab.

Is my location shared all the time?

No, you have full control over location sharing:

  • Location is only used when you create a trip or enable "I'm here"
  • You can disable sharing anytime in settings
  • Your exact position is never shared, only the city/area

Safety and Privacy

How do I block a user?
  1. Go to the user's profile or conversation
  2. Tap the menu (three dots in the top right)
  3. Select "Block"
  4. Confirm the block

The blocked user will no longer be able to contact you, see your profile or your trips. This action is permanent.

How do I report inappropriate behavior?
  1. Go to the profile or conversation
  2. Tap the menu (three dots)
  3. Select "Report"
  4. Choose the reason for reporting
  5. Add details if necessary

Our team reviews each report within 24-48 hours and takes appropriate action.

Are my messages secure?

Yes, we take your communication security seriously:

  • Messages are transmitted via secure connection (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Data is stored on secure servers
  • Only you and your correspondent can read your messages
  • Our team only accesses messages in case of a report
How can I protect my personal data?

Here are some tips:

  • Use a strong, unique password
  • Never share your login credentials
  • Don't share sensitive information (banking, exact address) in messages
  • Regularly check your privacy settings

What information is visible to others?

Visible to all users:

  • First name
  • Profile photo
  • Age
  • Nationality
  • Biography and interests
  • Published trips

Never visible:

  • Email
  • Password
  • Exact date of birth
  • Exact GPS position

Technical Issues

The app won't load, what should I do?

Try these steps in order:

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Completely close the app and reopen it
  3. Restart your phone
  4. Check if an update is available
  5. Uninstall and reinstall the app

If the problem persists, contact our support.

I'm not receiving notifications

Check the following:

  1. Phone settings: Make sure notifications are enabled for Vibe in your device settings
  2. App settings: Check that notifications are enabled in Settings > Notifications
  3. Do Not Disturb mode: Temporarily disable it to test
  4. Battery saver: Exclude Vibe from battery optimization
My photos won't upload

Check the following:

  • Connection: A good WiFi connection is recommended
  • File size: Very large photos may fail
  • Permissions: Make sure Vibe has access to your photos
  • Format: Only JPG and PNG formats are accepted

Try reducing the photo size or using a different image.

The map isn't displaying correctly

Possible solutions:

  • Check your internet connection
  • Grant location permissions to the app
  • Restart the app
  • Update the app to the latest version
  • Clear the app cache (Settings > Apps > Vibe > Clear cache)
